Cashier 

Job description: Cashiers are responsible for keeping things organized and clean in their area, cashing out our guests quickly and accurately,  and most importantly, thanking our guests and inviting them to come back to see us soon.

Host

Job description: From welcoming and engaging our guests to keeping things organized and clean, our hospitality team members take pride in providing exceptional service to every guest, every visit. Hosts are the first ones to make a great first impression on our guests. They must have a welcoming smile and greet everyone who walks through our door with Welcome to China Star! 

Server

Job description: From welcoming and engaging our guests to keeping their server station organized and clean, our hospitality team members must provide exceptional service to every guest, on every visit. They are responsible for refilling our guest’s drinks providing napkins and making sure the guests’ tickets are accurate.

Cook

Job description: Our cooks are responsible for cooking great dishes quickly and with consistent flavors and textures. They are multi-taskers that prep and cook while keeping their station clean and organized.

Sushi

Job description: Our sushi person provides guests with a variety of well-presented sushi and is open to custom orders of sushi from our guests.

Salad

Job description: From welcoming and engaging our guests to keeping things organized and clean, our hospitality team members take pride in providing exceptional service to every guest, on every visit. 

Busser

Job description: From welcoming and engaging our guests to keeping things organized and clean, our hospitality team members take pride in providing exceptional service to every guest, on every visit. 

Dishwasher

Job description: Become a part of the engine that makes our restaurants run. Our dishwashers help our kitchen and front of the house run smoothly. They are essential to making our day-to-day restaurant function and we need a good dishwasher to help our entire restaurant succeed. Many of our cooks started out as dishwashers, so there are opportunities for other positions in the kitchen based on performance.

Hibachi

Job description: Hibachi station offers our guests the ability to customize their hibachi plate with various proteins and veggies, and whether they want a sweet sauce or as spicy as they like it. Our hibachi chefs cook their plates to order and this is a popular feature for our guests. 

Grill/Oven cook

Job description: Our grill and oven cooks will grill and bake many of our popular dishes from our sweet ribs, fresh dinner rolls, salmon, and baked fish to our beef and chicken fajitas.  

Wok cook

Job description: Our wok cooks create many of our delicious mouth-watering dishes from shrimp fried rice to our veggie lo mein, beef pepper steak, and even our crawfish. Following our company’s recipes, they provide consistent dishes that have our regulars coming back for their favorites.

Shift Leads

Job description: From welcoming and engaging our guests to keeping things organized and clean through out the restaurant, our hospitality team members must provide exceptional service to every guest, every visit. Shift leads assist our management team to run a smooth shift and makes sure our guests have a memorable visit.

Assistant Managers

Job description: From welcoming and engaging our guests to keeping things organized and clean throughout the restaurant, our hospitality team members must provide exceptional service to every guest, every visit. They assist the GM to make sure labor and food costs are under control and are table-touching to make sure guests are well taken care of.

Kitchen Assistant Managers

Job description: Kitchen assistant managers help run the kitchen smoothly under the direction of the kitchen manager. They ensure the company’s food safety and guidelines are being followed and that all cooks in the kitchen are working efficiently. They assist the kitchen manager to keep our kitchen clean and sanitized to health department standards.

Kitchen Managers

Job description: Kitchen managers are responsible for cooks’ schedules, placing orders from our vendors, checking in orders, and making sure the kitchen is running smoothly.  They ensure the company’s food safety and guidelines are being followed and that all cooks in the kitchen are working efficiently. They are responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of our kitchens to health department standards.

General Managers

Job description: From welcoming and engaging our guests to keep the entire restaurant organized, running smoothly, and clean, our hospitality team members must provide exceptional service to every guest, every visit. Our GMs are the captains of all our restaurants. They are responsible for everything under the roof! From making schedules to controlling labor and food costs, cleanliness of the restaurant to guest satisfaction, our GMs have integrity, tenacity, and the ability to multi-task and magic the magic happen.
